Wonderful period homes with good size yards, perfect for family life. I have never lived in Ashgrove, but have friends who have owned and lived in a house there for over 35 years. What I like about Ashgrove is the wonderful, old but many are restored Queenslander houses with huge backyards, which make you feel like you are in a country town somewhere even though it is very close to the city.

The only drawback would be Waterworks Road and Jubilee Terrace, which are both extremely busy roads and always filled with vehicles. I would not like to live on these roads. Everything is close by and there is a really good community spirit. Great location, beautiful leafy and peaceful. Words can't describe what a great suburb this is, you just need to live here to know the dream!

Those who finally discover here, are hesitant to leave, we know why. Don't hesitate if you are thinking of moving here as property prices are rising fast with many selling well over the Million.

This is definitely lifestyle living at its best!. A beautiful family friendly suburb only 5klm from the CBD. This is the place you always imagined to bring up a family in.

The area is filled with gorgeous Queenslander Homes or "Ashgrovians" as often referred to. It boasts peaceful tree lined streets, lots of parks and bike ways, a glorious creek meandering through the suburb and great schools. Good shops and boutique Coffee spots for the weekend nearby. Great place to live. Its often said locally that once you move here, you are hesitant to leave. The residents are very friendly and caring to their neighbors. All this also makes for healthy long term property growth too.

Ashgrove is very hard to beat as one of the greatest suburbs in Brisbane! Working in the area for the past 10 years as a real estate agent for Harcourts City and as a local resident growing up in the area, I have been a "raving fan" of Ashgrove for a very long time. My sister and I attended high school in the area Mt St Michael's College, Ashgrove and my mother remains a local resident - living just off Ashgrove Avenue.

The area offers a wonderful family friendly lifestyle with block sizes larger than surrounding suburbs back yard for the kids is becoming rare in inner-city Brisbane , recent developments of major super markets for all family-buying needs as well as provides some of Brisbane's finest primary and secondary education.

There is also an abundance of public transport and safe walking routes to parks, schools and local businesses. I love the area and work with buyers on a daily basis who are just waiting for the opportunity to buy in one of Brisbane's best hot spots. Been here 15 years now and wouldn't think of moving. Close to the CBD but just far enough away to be out of the rat race.

Owned here for 10 years and back onto the reserve. Rented here originally before getting married and wanted to buy here. Waking up to birds each morning is a bonus, save for the odd crow. Both neighbours are good friends who we socialise with them and the kids play together between yards. I work in the city and the drive is about 15 minutes. Spoilt for supermarkets, not that I enjoy grocery shopping.

Coming from the country I really appreciate how leafy the suburb is. It sometimes is so quiet it's a bit eerie, thinking you are in the middle of a city. My folks think so to when they come to town. It is a lovely place to live and my kids will have to bury me in the reserve somewhere, someday, because I can't see myself moving. Ashgrove is a very quiet suburb with plenty of schools to choose from. The Woolworths Centre and the other Coles centre add great shopping to the area. You wouldn't believe you are only 5km to the city until you take in the magnificent city views!

Ashgrove is very high up meaning that it is no chance of ever flooding and has proven to be a great choice for young families looking to settle down in a great neighbourly suburb. Nothing compares to Ashgrove when it comes to a friendly leafy suburb close to the city. It has everything particularly if you are raising a Family. The area has all the facilities you could ask for and is safe for kids.

Most who buy here never leave, so Real Estate prices are solid and that means great investment. Forget "Green Acres" or the river, Ashgrove is the Place to be! I will stay forever. So many parks, relaxing bike paths and leafy walking tracks, pretty winding creeks and beautiful Mountain backdrops, it is very hard to beat. Gets my vote for the best Suburb in Brisbane.

The right side would be the Brisbane city - Ocean side because of the nice breeze and the view to the city.

The wrong side would be the hinterland facing side, as it can be extremely hot and there is very little view to the city. All up it might be a busy road but all amenities are very tempting. The property prices most definitely will climb after Brisbane flooding. Surprisingly quiet are the backyards as they mostly below the street level.

Very save for children, very low crime rate. I really like Ashgrove as you can still buy some real charmers for good prices. I am a big fan of the big old queenslanders on large blocks. Ashgrove is a lovely leafy suburb only a short distance drive to the CBD of brisbane. We are thinking of buying in Ashgrove but some locals tell me there is a "right" and a "wrong" side of Waterworks Rd, i.

Is this true? Could some ashgrove locals enligten me? The right side would be the Brisbane city - ocean side because of the nice breeze and view to the city. This is a Great Place for young couples or people wanting to raise a Family in a very Safe and fun suburb. Lots of Parks and Biketracks nearby within walking distance. A couple of shopping centre hubs nearby. Don't forget Naples Italian Resturant which has been there for years and still has the best pizzas in Brisbane!

Ashgrove State School has a reputation for being one of the best state schools in Qld. This suburb is surrounded by Trees and Parks. Great place to Live! Once people move here, they rarely leave! But please don't tell everyone how great it is.

Ashgrove is Brisbane's top suburb for families. The parks, the schools, and the large blocks are ideal. But, for a single gal like me, there is nothing. If you are young and single you have to look elsewhere. If you are a student, it is too far to travel. Again, don't get me wrong, if you are raising a family there is no better place to be. Looking at the reviews there is nothing for me to add, other than what I have said.
