Overclock what is vtt

I'm going to try increasing VTT and play around with RAM voltage and see if that helps since most guides indicate it may help with stability in general, but if this is behavior anyone's seen before then not stabbing in the dark would be nice.

However I didn't really need to change it much at all. It's not like every other option where you can type in or select the voltage you want up to downright silly levels. It's a tiny list with four nearly - identical options, which is an implicit statement by Asrock to not screw with it. Literally every other voltage on the board can be increased to just about insta-fry levels so it's not like they don't provide general voltage headroom. I also have never heard anyone tell me they messed with the system agent during OCing.

I'm starting to think all these claimed relationships are nonsense. Leaving a certain voltage too high or low can certainly damage things, and in VERY rare cases where one voltage in drawn from another eg Haswell Vcore vs CPU input voltage things can destabilize if there's too much difference same with clocks , but I've never heard of a modest difference between two voltages causing damage, and numerous cases seem to violate all of these relationships people insist be followed without damage or instability.

Posted 03 November - PM That pretty much confirms what I've come to figure by this point, so I'll go with that. New posts New profile posts Latest activity. Current visitors New profile posts Search profile posts Billboard Trophies.

Hi, I've read about these options and I never really had a clear understanding on what they actually do and I would like a simplified yet accurate explanation on what VTT and PLL are.

What are each of their functions and how do they relate to overclocking? S: Im not planning on messing with these in my bios, its just for educational purposes only so please no answers like "Don't mess with it" Thanx in advance. Apr 12, 6, 0 26, PLL is phase locked loop.

This is somewhat like a northbridge type thing, except not. JavaScript is disabled. For a better experience, please enable JavaScript in your browser before proceeding. Previous Next. AdamK47 Lifer. Oct 9, 13, Yes, I'm going to actually ask an overclocking question in this forum for a change. I've been able to get 4. Getting out the memory is the troubling thing at the moment. The XMP 1. The XMP profile calls for 1. If I increase it to 1.

Anyone running a similar setup? It will run fine at at timings with only 1. Part of me wants to leave it there, but the other part of me wants the full DDR3 speeds.

BonzaiDuck Lifer. Jun 30, 15, 1, Excellent, that helps me so much. Again thank you! I will come back and report if once I found I need to tweak this setting. Until then I will let it run on Auto. Hello, can you explain which Voltages you also rise to run your GB Kits stable?

Before that i got sometimes a driver less or equal error I did not OC my cpu yet it runs only 3Ghz. BTW: got a gtx titan black sc 3-way-sli Thanks.

Hi, Sure, before I started to overclock the system I invested a lot of time to get the default settings with XMP enabled running. I did this in three step and tested and recorded each of them in detail.

I can share this with you so here we go Minimum voltage settings required Finally I tried to bring down all the voltages choosen by the BIOS in auto settings to their minimum values. In case you are interessted in all the setups, test, results asf. Thank you very much! Now i found out that the voltages are without OC still to high with the bios defaults.

The RAM Voltage i lowered to 1,20V its the default for the memory Mhz Edit: thanks for the excel sheets - i will try to use them : Still testing the system with prime95 v2.
